About Dr. Mrudul Deshpande

Functional medicine & metabolic health specialist — Pune, India.

Dr. Mrudul Deshpande is a medical doctor (MBBS) by training and a functional medicine practitioner by purpose — combining clinical medicine with evidence-based nutrition to resolve chronic metabolic conditions at their root, not merely manage their symptoms.

The journey began in conventional medicine, where Dr. Mrudul completed an MBBS and built a strong foundation in diagnosing and managing disease. Over time, one realisation became impossible to ignore: most chronic health conditions were being managed symptomatically rather than truly resolved.

Instead of asking "What disease does this person have?", functional medicine asks "Why did this condition develop in the first place?"

That question reoriented everything — toward functional medicine, an approach that identifies and addresses the root cause of disease rather than suppressing symptoms. It views the body as an interconnected system, going deeper into metabolism, nutrition, lifestyle, gut health, inflammation, and hormonal balance.

Dr. Mrudul is deeply passionate about transforming lives through nutrition and metabolic health, with a firm belief that optimal health begins with a well-balanced metabolism — and that nutrition is the cornerstone of overall well-being. Each programme blends medical knowledge with evidence-based nutritional strategies to help patients reverse or manage chronic conditions, improve metabolic function, restore energy and vitality, and build sustainable, long-term habits.

The approach is highly personalised — working closely with each patient to understand their unique biology, lifestyle, and challenges, then guiding them toward informed, practical dietary and lifestyle change. The goal is simple: to help you heal from within, not just manage symptoms.

What is Change & Evolve?

Bringing back the wisdom of
ancestral eating.

As an ancient culture, we have followed a traditional way of living. We may have been right then — but a lot has changed. India has risen to become the diabetes capital of the world: a metabolically unhealthy nation facing pandemics of diabetes, PCOS, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and early deaths from non-communicable disease.

Change & Evolve was built to question what brought us here. Is our "ghar ka khana" really healthy? Are the grains, sugars, and seed oils that have become commonplace on our plates truly serving us? For us, the honest answer was a clear no.

Historically, our ancestors were hunter-gatherers with almost no metabolic disease, remarkable longevity, and optimal health — because they used food as clean, pure energy for survival, not as a tool for constant indulgence. Change & Evolve is determined to bring that wisdom, and good health, back to you — coaching you to eat the way your body was always meant to, based on nothing but science. Not just to change, but to evolve.

2

Personalised nutrition protocols

No template diets. Every patient gets a protocol built from their labs, history, lifestyle and metabolic profile.

3

Structured multi-week programmes

8–12 week structured programmes with check-ins, lab reviews, and protocol adjustments at every stage.

4

Ongoing portal access

Patients track appointments, upload reports, and view their treatment plan through a private patient portal.

Root-Cause Medicine

What is Functional Medicine?

While nutrition plays a foundational role, true healing requires understanding why these imbalances developed in the first place.

Functional medicine is a root-cause, systems-based approach that looks beyond symptoms and diagnoses. It views the body as an interconnected system, where an imbalance in one area can influence many others.

Most importantly, it is highly personalised — two people with the same condition may have entirely different root causes, and therefore need entirely different treatment strategies.

1

Gut health disturbances

Imbalances in the gut microbiome and digestion that ripple across the whole body.

2

Nutritional deficiencies

Missing building blocks the body needs to regulate metabolism and repair.

3

Chronic inflammation

Low-grade inflammation that quietly drives metabolic disease.

4

Hormonal imbalances

Insulin, thyroid and sex-hormone dysregulation behind many symptoms.

5

Lifestyle factors

Stress, sleep, movement and environment — the daily inputs that shape health.

The Metabolic Lever

Why Low-Carb?

Modern health challenges — obesity, diabetes, PCOS, fatty liver, thyroid dysfunction, chronic inflammation — are rarely random. They are rooted in metabolic dysfunction, and at the core of most lies one issue: insulin resistance and impaired metabolic flexibility.

What persistently high insulin drives
Increased fat storage & difficulty losing weight
Energy swings and constant cravings
Hormonal imbalances (PCOS, thyroid dysfunction)
Chronic low-grade inflammation
Progression toward metabolic disorders
What a personalised low-carb approach restores
Improved insulin sensitivity
A shift toward efficient fat burning
Stable energy levels and appetite
Reduced inflammation
Sustainable fat loss & metabolic health

This is not about extreme restriction — it's about using carbohydrates strategically, based on individual metabolic needs.

The Combined Approach

Correcting the root cause

When low-carbohydrate nutrition is combined with functional medicine, the approach becomes both targeted and holistic.

01

Low-carb corrects the metabolism

Therapeutic carbohydrate restriction addresses metabolic dysfunction and insulin resistance directly — the engine behind most chronic lifestyle disorders.

02

Functional medicine finds the root

Root-cause, systems-based investigation identifies and corrects the deeper drivers — gut health, deficiencies, inflammation, hormones, and lifestyle.

03

Together, sustainable health

Combined, they create a targeted yet holistic pathway toward long-term health — restoring balance and function, not just managing symptoms.

Health is not just about managing symptoms — it is about restoring balance and function. This approach empowers you to understand your body better, make informed and sustainable lifestyle choices, address the root cause of your health concerns, and ultimately heal from within.
